I was cutting a branch off a leylandii today and being spring a bit of the bark pulled off as the branch fell down. So on a whim I pulled a load more off and had a go at some basketry. I'm quite pleased with it for a first attempt ever and without any instructions, though I can see plenty of places to get better. It will do nicely to put my wife's Easter egg in though. I've just located a huge heap of felled birch that has been left by the road where it was cut so I think I'll get some more materials and keep practicing!

Nice basket. Why don't you try a quiver next? :OK
-
It's on the list, but I should probably make some arrows to go in it first. And finish a bow to shoot them from too... :BB
-
While you are waiting to make some arrows and finish a bow you could make the quiver. ;D

Very nice Easter basket

very nice job
I dig the quiver idea too
I like the contrast from the back and front side of the bark. Could be used to draw some kind of pattern
-
I like the contrast idea - I'll have a play with that.
Thank you for the kind comments, I've wanted to try this for years so will definitely be making more.

I like!

Very nice! Quiver first, you'll need some place to put the arrows😀😂!
