Title: Raw Kaolin Hardin
Post by: bowmo on July 06, 2017, 12:22:30 pm
A raw high grade piece of Kaolin I made into a Hardin. All stone and bone. Edges and notches were punched with antler.

Thanks guys!

Zuma...Kaolin comes from Southern Illinois. A lot of the artifacts the Cahokia culture made were made from Kaolin. It comes in a ton of different colors and grades and all will heat treat into glass, but I don't usually heat the real high grade stuff like this. It knaps great raw and Hardin's weren't made from heated stone anyway.

Your right I do have a piece of it. All the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
When it gets down in the 80's I'll have to dig it up. Thanx again
