Title: Black locust rawhide backed bow 54#@ 25"

Hello everyone! I decided to post another bow I finished up recently. It is a snakey black locust bow. The rings were very thin and this is why I decided to back it with rawhide. I pre stretched the raw hide before application. To hide the dingy unappealing color of the rawhide I found inspiration in the wooden cups my father carves from wooden burls. I used a few different colors of leather dye to get close to the colors of the burls. I also used burl wood for the tip overlays. I finished it all with 6 coats of tru oil. The bow is a blast to shoot and only feels like a 40lb bow to draw.It is super light and will be a shoe in to take afield and chase some critters. Bow is 62" long and is 52#@25" made here in the Laurel Mountains Pennsylvania. [img(http://i.imgur.com/0nK3sJt.jpg)
