Never have enough clamps . . . :BB (-S
Will be looking forward to regular updates.

I think that's a super combo bubby.Look forward to the finish.I glue it up the same way with smooth on.You may know this but leaving that bow set in the sun at 80 to 85 degrees will cure that smooth on at 150 to 160 degrees for 5 to 6 hours.Instead of waiting 24 hours to cure.

Thats right mike😉 ed i like to stick it in the cab of my truck, he in nor cal it can get plenty hot in the cab

curious what is under the wrapping ........
-
Sorry Bub.I know this is your thread.....I use saran wrap under the inner tubes.Masking tape on the outside surfaces first too.C clamp it every 6" for sue before wrapping with the innertube squeezing the excess glue out and wiped off prior too before saran wrapping.Proper amount of sizing with that smooth on takes a little practice to reduce the excess to a minimum so clean up is'nt that big a deal then.Starting out plenty wide does help though.
I warm the wood prior on at least a 60 grit surface before applying the smooth on for a good sizing job.I use 36 grit myself.
-
No problem Ed, i use stretch wrap. One clamp at the handle and wrap tight enough to get the glue moving, working grip out on both limbs. I use 36-50 grit to prep the mating surfaces, i used my homemade thickness sander with 36 on this one. Then wrap with innertubes

got this one unwrapped, cleaned the edges up, glued on a overlay and the riser. then trapped the back and faceted the belly up to the hooks(https://i.imgur.com/WGbxHRP.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/DyRJWq8.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/h2rGjzs.jpg)(https://i.imgur.com/7RSZp7t.jpg)

Bubby I remember my aunt having homemade rubber tire horses on her swing set when I was a kid. That was almost 50 years ago and haven't seen one since until now.
Looks like things are coming along nicely.
PS maybe you could get a full draw on horse back. Lol
-
Bub, that's looking awesome for sure. I with BJ on the FD idea. ;)

Nice :)

here it is at about 16" of draw. started stretching her out during shootin and got out to about 27". just a little bit more to go(https://i.imgur.com/3zIqBgT.jpg)

Looks awesome. :OK
-
I like it Bub.Coming along very nice.Nice work.I forgot the length on this one but the way you glued it up should not hardly take any set at all in the working limbs.Even with the flipped tips. It'll be a really good shooter.
I've got the material here to do that type of bow here too.I should get onto it sometime.
-
I think it is 60" ttt ed
-
That is looking nice ::)
-
Man that combo is pretty can't wraith to see it dressed up (-P
-
Bub, ya may have forgotten . . . 27" is enough for me. Just need to get weight down.
-
I thought you drew 24" knoll😲
