I'm adding the Tru-Oil finish and waiting for a care package from Clint to complete this new addition so I thought I'd give y'all a little tease...

Looks good Pat. The strings should be there soon.
-
It got here this afternoon, Clint, along with other stuff. :OK
I'll get her dressed up and do a fashion show later. ;)
-
Nice looking profile Pat... (-P Still using that pine pitch shellac recipe you gave me years ago, it is one water proof cure for sure, rain cannot penetrate... )P(
Thanks, Don
-
You got me hooked Pat, the side profile looks like a fast shooter!
Come on, let's see more!
-
Bow looks great but i'm interested in the pitch/shellac combo, any information going!?
-
Looking forward to seeing her all dolled up Pat. :)

Getting excited to see the fashion show. Really like the teaser profile.

-
Looks great ! how about some specs before the show ? (-P
-
Fine looking profile on that stick. Is that a little mounted gamble quail on the bench?
-
Thanks guys. It's been a fun project and fun getting back into building bows again. She's 66" t/t, 1 1/2" to mid limb and tapering to 3/8" at the tips. I heat treated the belly of the reflex form. I hope she keeps that unstrung profile. One of the limbs was out of tiller a little so I've had to do a little more scraping to try to even it up some. She's pulling about 44#@26" now and I hope to keep it about there.
BowEd, the quail is one of my wife's paper mache projects.just drying in the sun.

Another "Tacky" tease...

I'm speechless (A)

Say now that looks to be a cat theme covering on that bows.It would fit in perfect though for camoflauge.
-
wow
-
Now I see why you needed a gaudy string ;). Nice side profile
-
She's gonna be tacky! ;)
-
She's beautiful Pat. Can't wait to see her will all her make up on.
-
Omg Pat! That thing is gaudy!! Love it!
-
Looking good! Jawge
-
Thats so gaudy i think it is 70's disco chic
-
That one is very unique Pat. It looks like a tiger mated with a cheetah. Maybe their still mating lol. Pretty cool.

Is it bringing back some memories for you Bubby ;D
-
Ahhh, a leopard - tiger or is she a tiger - leopard?
So to say a leoti or a tileo!
Never thought genetic science is already that far >:D
Looks not like an everyday bow Pat, what is the material?
-
Simon, it is animal print tissue paper. I have leopard, tiger, zebra(same as tiger but black and white), giraffe and cow.
-
Pat that is a interesting backing material. I remember the giraffe one you did. I like em.
Bjrogg
-
BJ, one of my best bows, Shere Khan, was a similar osage bow with tiger stripe backing and I did a few with giraffe, and leopard. I think Clint did a similar one too.
I'm getting the handle wrap on and will add more decorations soon. I'll keep you guys posted.

Never heard about that stuff. What is the 'normal' purpose/usage?
-
Simon, it's just decorative tissue paper for gift wrapping, etc.
-
I did a how-to post a while back on how to apply that tissue paper. I learned from Pat.
-
She ain't quite tie dyed, but she sure is different! Waiting to see her al gussied up and story ting her stuff! Real neat!

I broke one of our rules. I dressed her up before she was shot in and now she's out of tiller. I have to soften one limb and I'm afraid she'll come out light so I'll probably pike her a bit and see. To be continued! (R
-
You got rusty Pat. Better start building more bows to stay sharp :BB
-
Hey Pat, I'd be happy to twist you up a hot pink and orange fast flight string!
-
That's the problem, Clint, or at least one of them.
Thanks Steve but Clint has already supplied the string(s) for Tacky. Apparently the string is the least of my problem. ::)
-
Yep It is hard sometime to wait on the finish work but as you said it is always a good idea. At least you don't have to bother the back for your retillering. Very cool looking for sure. :)

Let's see if I remember how to do these pics... She is osage(probably from Clint), 65" t/t, she pulls 47#@28", with antler tip overlays(painted red with gold polka dots and decorated as tackily as I could. The backing is animal print tissue paper and gold paint. I have to thank Clint for the other tacky stuff he sent me to dress her up, strings and string materials, fur silencers, black patent leather gator impressed handle wrap and red leather cover for the arrow shelf and strike plate. I made a leather shelf and added it to the side of the handle. Clint sent other stuff just in case I needed it. Thanks for your contributions, Clint.

-
That is a beauty Pat, I love the profile!
-
I can only see the one picture on the work computer and my phone >:( >:( >:(
-
If someone can tell me how to remedy the problem I'd be happy to do so.
-
I see six pictures on my PC.
-
I'm just using a computer here.No smart phone. The pics got lost in the universe on the way to my computer I guess....lol.
-
Only one pic visible for me as well. I'd bet money it's a beauty of a bend though Pat!

Bow looks great but i'm interested in the pitch/shellac combo, any information going!?

That’s a dandy! Bet you had fun with that one.
-
Thanks for posting the pics Clint.
Thanks Morgan. She was a fun project. I've done 4 or 5 other bows with animal print tissue and all came out well. Clint did one also a few years ago.
-
Man that's a sweet bend. Thanks OO
-
Beautiful tiller Pat.That tissue paper usage is a good idea.
-
Yup! She's all gussied up and ready to strut her stuff! (SH) :NN >:D! Good job!
Hawkdancer
-
Great tiller Pat
-
She looks like she came straight off a san fransisco street corner, tacky, hot and lots o' curves lol. Looks good pat
-
Thank you, guys.
-
I tried to save you and Clint some time, Pat B. I told you the bow would be tillered perfectly and it is.
Very nicely done, my friend.
Jawge
-
Very nice Pat that's a beautiful bow worth the tease !
-
I really like it Pat, I'm not sure that's saying much as I'm a bit of a odd duck. I'd carry that girl anywhere. Kinda reminds me of that song. " I like my women just a little on the trashy side"
Bjrogg
-
That ain't lipstick ona pig! Nicely done Pat! The Leapard/Girraffe 50/50 sapwood/heart wood bow you gifted me is still holding up great! It has seen forrest and field and the tissue and finish is still in great shape 👍.... Brian
-
Very nice bow. I would call it The Drag Queen. That’s what I thought of when I seen the animal print and flashy tips then topped off with some lime green lacing. Wow what a bow I bet she(it) shoots good. Congrats.
-
Funny I don't see pictures on my computer but I did on my phone.
Pat, that bow is super fun. Looks great!
-
Bend looks well balanced Pat... :OK
Don
-
Thanks everyone.
-
Fine bow Pat. I would have taken the pics on some pink shag carpet - if pink shag carpet still exists...
-
If I had one I would have Howard. ;)
