I've never tried it, but I've heard it works very well. Just gotta get te feel for removing the fat without tearing the hide.

I tried it in September when a friend gave me a hide.. Works good, messy and wet but good... Wear a rain suit.. As Kyle stated gotta get the feel.. It did a nice job.. I think my washer is 2250psi

I personally love doing it versus by hand. I have an old workbench that I lay the hide flat on and use spring clamps to pin it on one side. that way you can hold the pressure washer on a severe angle so you're basically peeling the fat and flesh off and not shooting at it straight on. Be careful around holes. Also it's very messy. Whatever's in line of you shooting up to 30 feet away will be covered in flesh and meat. Once you get a feel for it you can easily flesh a hide in less than 10 minutes

I first started pressure washing deer capes in a taxidermy shop. Makes them very clean. I also trap, and use it for small animals. It is especially good for fatty animals, like coons ,beaver. Saves a lot of time.
You do have to develop a feel as how to hold the angles, and such. You have to be careful around the edges of the hide, especially places like the belly, where it is thinner, it will cut through. You will get messy!

Wow what great replies. I got a huge invasive honey suckle bush in mind for back stop.

I haven't tried it yet Zuma other than many years ago on a cow hide. Started out just trying to get the manure off but realized it worked great for fleshing to. I plan on trying it this year on some deer and bear hides. It's a messy job however you do it.
