Title: Primitive Pipes
Post by: mullet on November 15, 2017, 06:19:27 pm
Brian melton sent me some wood and one of the pipes he is making which was really cool. So I had to try my hand at making some, also. Anybody that makes them feel free to post some, here's two I have made so far.

I like the dark one also. I don't know what the wood is but it got darker when I oiled it and after burnishing the grain Popped out like figured maple.

Ed that is really nice looking. I've also got some clay laid out and a lot of soapstone to start playing with. You guys are giving me ideas and I'm planning ahead for retirement to keep me busy.

Rob, the stems are just long pieces of River Cane, beveled. And the short one is a secret I'll let everybody in on, It is the 4" pieces of Pipe Bead for breast plates sold on Track of the Wolf. I'm getting read to crank out some real corn cob pipes with cane stems in between therapy.
