I am going to splice some billets for a 76" 125# bow, what type of splice you you recommend for this?
-
A really strong one ;)
-
do you have 48" to work with on each bilet? epoxy for sure if it bends in the handle
-
I have 57" long, I have a big pear log that I sawed up and am seasoning, I plan to use a lot of it for war bows and elbs. I am going to back it with either ash, maple or white oak.
-
have you ever tried one long splice rather than a "W" or "Z"?
-
I have used a simple point on 50# and under
-
If you can manage a one piece backing I don't think the splice is that big a deal.

Long Z

What did you end up using?

What did you end up using?
I ended up making a xylophone out of the wood. It was the Bradford pear and I decided against using it.
-
That's funny :D

I bet it's a sweet xylophone
