Title: The love of wood
Post by: Zuma on December 04, 2017, 08:10:18 pm
My X called and asked me to stop by. She wanted to show me a few things.
Here is one of them. I got her into carving over ten years ago. She took to
it like a cut worm. Photos are crappy.

Thanks guys :)
Actually it's the other way around Pappy. I just gave her the nudge to carve.
She was already an accomplished artist and painter. Her one son travels well
in her footsteps with his own twist.

Real neat!  Definitely the eye of an artist.  If I saw that in the wild, I would be very startled and probably administer a dose of "charmer" shot!  2  :OK :OK!

I really do like it Zuma. I'm thinking that was carved from a root? I really like the head and how it seems she used a knot for the eyes and nostrils. Very nice but I'm afraid my wife would chop it to pieces with the garden hoe if she saw it.

You guys are great and kind. She is incredibly talented.
I don't have a picture for you BJ but she did a dragon and
the eyes and nostrils are so cool too. She doesn't need a model
she does it from her head and hands,
