Dutch Oven Pizza ??? Hummmmmm might have to try that out at one of our gatherings. Brings back memories of Marshall and Moon Tree.

Bill my buddy had a pizza party back in his woods last year. He had two Dutch ovens and made about twenty pizzas. They were really good. He tried all kinds of different toppings. He's a real good cook. Pretty good eater to. The pizzas were kinda small but with the two ovens he got in the grove and felled everyones belly full.

Hey big guy, we can have a pizza cook off at Marshall. Ill bring my oven, although a cast fry pan and lid would be easier to use for pizza. My wife bought me an infrared thermometer. It will at least tell us the temp on the outside so we can keep it consistent without burning.

She thought it was "cute", so she bought it for me. Its kinda fun to play with and watch the temp changes.

I'm really trying to get my buddy to come to Marshall this year. He shoots one of my bows and hunts with it to. He's a good guy but real busy. He'd have a great time there.

I make deep dishes in a cast iron pan all the time. I did one on the grill once turned out pretty good

I think it's only fair that since this was my suggestion that I be the official taste tester.   Sorry Pearly, but my money is on the disco bear  ;D

Hey Clint are you sure you want pepperoni? Isn't it too spicy for you... last fall  I was given a large Dutch oven I'll bring along and I'll partake in the pizza Throwdown

You shouldn't sell me short.....Clint, pardon the pun :) . Ask Mike and Matt. They ate some of my cooking at bow camp. I just play dumb at the shoots so Pauly and the big guy just keep cooking and I sit back and wait to eat.

I might have an entry for the cook off.   I picked up a 5 qt Dutch oven at Wal-Mart tonight.  Now I just need to figure out how to use it.

You are right Mullet.  It can be made in a dutch oven as well.

Have to try that!  Dutch ovens make good cakes, too, and pies!  Only problem is, usually too much left over in a small camp!!  Sourdough Irish soda bread may turn out well!, or a carrot cake?

I've made rye bread in camp before, wasn't any left over for the cook though🙄

That's why the cook has to taste it before he serves it ....:) :)...;)
That was the ultimite compliment....none left.
