Elm longbow. Not the best wood quality but good enough for something like this. Non homogenous wood along the stave so I had to heat treat it parcialy to get stronger. Heated part overpowered rest of the bow. I should spoil cross section to balanced that and I was not motivated to do it. Because that tiller is not good as I want them to be, when make longbows. 77 long, about 2 of set after overdrawing, tommorow little less, about 1 1/3. Next dozen bows I am making from good but not premium staves. When I get in good balance I will start with A+quality staves that waits for me in stash. :)

For some reason I can not attach full draw pic to the same post. Here it is. Let moderator make this together if it is OK.

Nice. If you are going to do any heat-treating then the whole bow needs to be done at once
I think the file size limit was exceeded with the last picture.

Nice work as always :)
Can't wait to see a bow from the A grade staves.

Very cool bow and gnarly coveralls.

Druid, you are back. Lijep pozdrav iz Hrvatske.

That's amazing. I can't ever get my arm back that far without a bow :o

That's a wonderful bow, Druid!
I have never made an elm bow that heavy weight, or that long, but I have made a few around 60-70 lbs in the 67-70" range, sometimes with lots of knots.
I know you don't need MY advice, but I have good success and low set if I get a good, even, but not extreme bend in the middle of the bow. Then, I let the outer 1/3 of the limbs get just a little soft, almost whippy, then stiff again the last 10 cm or so.
At first I was under-bending the outer limbs is all, I think.

Love seeing your stuff! Glad your back. I cant quite tell, how did you do your nocks?

I like to see that launch an arrow, cool bow :)

Cool bow! Really ambitious to built such a strong bow from a gnarly character stave - well done!
But I really think you should add some horn nocks. As far as I can see on the one pic showing a nock, youve cut them rather deeply through the back rings. Especially with a 100+ poundage I would be terribly afraid that the nocks would just tear off.
Best regards
