I have a copy of Jim Hamm's new bow building book. It's in basically brand new condition. I would like to give this away to a beginner bowyer. The information in the book is basic beginner stuff. I don't think it would be useful to anyone who has been building bows for a while. So, if you have only made a couple of bows or just getting ready to build your first bow, please reply to this post. I will draw a name in one week and ship the book to the winner (US shipping only).
Admins: I thought it would get the most views on the bow page. If this should be moved to a different area feel free to do so.

Welcome Shawn and thanks for entering. I have 2 entries so far.
-
I just joined this forum yesterday. I am definitely a beginner. I have attempted two bows and broken both.
Thanks for the generosity.
-
Good on you Clint. I glanced over it in Marshall and it certainly would be a great tool for someone just starting off. it cuts to the point real quick
-
Good for you Clint. Pass it on. :OK
-
Good news! A second copy of this book has been donated by a PA member who wishes to remain anonymous. So now there will be 2 names drawn.
-
Throw my name n the hat, too! I'm still working on the first self bow! Haven't broken it yet"

Thanks Eric. I will let you know who the 2 winners are.

Very nice of you, Eric. That book and a Gizmo would get anybody aiming in the right direction.
-
PA is a forum like no other. :OK
-
Only 3 takers? I know there are more folks on here that can use the book and Gizmo. Speak up folks!
-
Good gesture Clint.I know I would of liked a book like that in the beginning.I'm sure it's well explained in the book.
-
I was hoping for more entries. Oh well, the odds are pretty favorable for the 4 so far.
-
I have to admitt, I like these odds. Maybe I will actually win something for once. Lol thanks again guys for the generosity.
-
I know some bowyers that could use this book...… :) ;) come on this is a good book, throw your name in there. Hell I might... the way things have been going for me lately...:)

Well, I’m a noob, too. But I thought, I’d better keep my trap shut, because sending those items to Germany would be asking far too much...
So - good luck to the others! :)

Not sure if I'm new enough, but I'm definitely in the high failure range. I'd love to be in the draw.

I'm a newbie starting out and just joined the forums. I would like to throw a piece of paper in the hat. Might be too new though to the forums, so if that is the case disregard my comment and give it to someone better.
Nice to meet everyone, I am Richard have been lurking as a guest for a while now.
-
I'll add your name the the drawing Richard. Welcome to PA.
-
I'm retiring in 7mos and plan to start making bows. Add my name please.....
-
Will do!
I'll give it a couple more days and then draw the winners.
-
Just laid out my third bow last weekend on a black walnut stave. Still need to take away quite a bit of wood before it bends any - Still alot to learn.
Please put my name in the drawing. Thanks very much!

Sabb and Greybuff.
I'll send you each a PM. Please reply with your name and shipping info so we can get these books and tillering gizmo's headed your way.
Thanks for entering the drawing everyone.

The PM's have been sent.
A big thanks to Eric Krewson for donating the tillering gizmos and to the anonymous donor of the second book. Thanks for helping to pass it on to the next generation of bow builders!

Congrats to the winners, and extra kudos for putting on the drawing, and to Eric for the gizmos!! Still learning how to use mine, but it sure helps seeing where to remove wood! Thank, Eric and Clint!

Thanks Clint and Eric for the book and the gizmo. I’ve been looking through the book and boy am I glad I won. Tons of useful stuff. I can’t wait till my wood has dried enough to get after it.
Thanks a million!
