Title: Does bone really wear away that fast?
Post by: Ryan Jacob on June 22, 2018, 05:43:00 am
So I made some bone flaker tips and I’m really surprised, they have a completely different feel to my aluminum ones, but they worn down twice now after only a little knapping. Are they supposed to be like thos or do I have to do something to the bone first?

Naw that's typical of most bone. Antler is much harder and will wear down slower but antler and bone tools just wear much faster than metal over all which is why my antler tips are much fatter than my metal tips so it slows that down.
