This should work until I can buy a stavemaster
-
Good Job! Round the corners and smooth the edges on the seat, and don’t leave it outside – should serve you well for a “lot” of bows. Sure beats what the Indians had!

Yeah definitely beats lashing the stave to a log and scraping it with rocks

Might try to find you an old tractor/lawn mower seat for added comfort - unless, of course you leave in the hot sun for a while! How about a build along pattern, and a load list? Looks very functional!

And a side shelf or the beer ;)

I'll drink to that! And a cooler under the seat!

Oh a cooler attachment yes I hadn't thought of that!
I don't know about a build along pattern, but if you Google "shave horse from 2x4's I bet you'll find the video I based this on. Basically, make the bench then make a "head" for the kind of work you do. You could make different heads, switch them fairly easily.

I attached a tin can to mine with a beer coozie, works great.

Is there a reason seat for the bow is at angle instead of parallel?
-
that's really nice and look functional :OK
I'd add a crossbar between the rear legs for improved strength
-
One of those might be easier on the old hips and back! Next time, that HF has a sale, I am picking up more floor mats to spread around the bow bench! After I clean all the stuff out of the way, and reorganize thins a bit better! Make the little lady happier! On the other hand, it may upset the "garage troll" >:D. As interesting as building the bench was, making one of these should be a good tale!

Filip, I don't know why the angle, that's how it was done in the examples I followed. Seems to put the workpiece into right place to get worked on! All angles are 22½ or 90 degrees

Glis yes I may add a crossbar. Seems solid for now though, there's a fairly substantial board on the end there.
