I rolled up to the Pink Lady around 10pm last night, slept well. Spent all morning digging for nada, then went to the mercantile for lunch & gas. Went to the rainbow site, dug all afternoon for more nada. Then headed back to Oregon and collected some nice juniper. More later about the obsidian.

I hope you didn't drive far to just strike out.

Yep I sure did, but then once back in Oregon I got some decent juniper, so the trip wasn't entirely wasted.

So Taxus your not recommending this dig site? My cousin is visiting from California and I was going to tell him about this location. Nothing there?

I do recommend it! But don't fool yourself about how much work goes into digging it up. I won't go if I only have one day.

Thanks Taxus, I'm going to tell my cousin about this post. He lives around The Rosewood area. Thinking that's a few hours south of the site.

If you return to Davis Creek, these guys may be able to give you some good tips.

When I was there the ground was still frozen (late April) I hunted nodules in the creek.
Got lots of softball sized and a few larger nodules. Also the road cuts.

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I'll check out the tapa.
Zuma, was that the middle fork of Davis Cr? Any info appreciated.

I think it was just west of where all tributaries meet.
Maybe a mile or less from the main road
X's and red dots is where I found nodules in the creek.
They were every where i looked. The ground was froze
but the creek was running.
