My plan was a bit more draw weight, but...after tillering and mounting the nocks I realized that the handle wasn't centered and that the lower limb was longer than the upper one...had to retiller and cheat with the nocks @ the handle. It's become a nice recrational-training-bow now 8)

It was a fairly perfect piece of wood - only had to remove quite lots of sapwood first...

Nice clean piece of Yew.
Would like to see more pics around the tips and definitely the full draw.

Very nice Smik. Is it your dad's yew or his yew bow? I'm sure he's proud of it either way

Very nice looking bow

Outstanding! Came out great!

I really love those nocks! How wide is the limb just before the nock?
-
Stunning. (-S

Great bow! Tiller, finish, overlays - all really well done! Will you add a grip cover and/or arrow pass?
Your Dad will certainly be delighted! :)

thanks buddies! that are the compliments I was looking for 8)
to clearify: I'm "Dad" - it's my personal bow and my first yew - after I did one for my son ("branch") and one for my wife ("mum's yew"). Doing the "yew family line" at the moment...
Nzuka: They are approx 5/8" @ the nocks
TorstenT: No wrap - I like the wooden feeling in my hands and I like more the tillering job than the stitching and artwork job...maybe i'll start to do some extra work on my bows after I learnt the basics
By the way: It approved to be also a family bow that can be shot by 5year old sons...Finally tried to catch the magic evening light on the bow - but photography also is an art of it's own that takes time...
Cheers
