This is a great event that needs more shooters. We have excellent facilities with RV hookups and an air conditioned building with showers. A small group of us usually come a day or 2 early to build bows...
-
I will have to mark this on my Calendar seeing how this is right down the road from me, 20 minutes away from home.
-
I had no idea... I talked to you about the lamp at MoJam. It will be great to see you there.
-
I will try to make it. :BB
-
Hey Nonose i guess i need to get with you to build some arrows, so i can get some practice in....
-
Robert Powell came over yesterday and we talked about doing a little bit of flight shooting at the shoot this year... it should be fun.
-
Bob wish I could be there but I will be out west then. Tell Robert , Kenny, Jackie, And gang Arvin says hi. Arvin
-
If you do the flight shoot what are the rules going to be for it? I'm faced with the fact that I will not be able to complete with the 26" draw arrows.
-
we could do like some did at MoJam, and just measure the bows draw weight at your draw and only pull that far. There were a few guys that measured at 26" and 27" and they shot arrows only drawn that far. This will likely be a trail run more for fun than anything else.

That's fine but when I have a draw length of 34" means my bow is no where close to full draw, and output.

I misunderstood...I knew that a guy your size would have a long draw. The only thing I might have that's long would be bamboo...but maybe dowel rods would make a long shaft for you? I never knew anyone that had arrows that long.

I have a couple bamboo arrows, and supplies to build some dogwood arrows that will not flex like the bamboo arrows do. I just have to get Nose to help me.
-
cool... I have some dogwood shafts that I picked up at mojam if you need more.
-
How much does it cost for a RV sight? (-P
-
it's FREE... :OK
-
Anyone planning on showing up early to build bows?
-
yes...several of us will be there thursday.
-
I'm planning on heading that way Thursday after work. Might even bring the camper down Wednesday depending on when No Nose plans on showing up.
-
Looking forward to visiting with you... James (Nonose) is coming? A few are going to get there Wednesday but I think Robert and I are still looking at getting there early Thursday.
-
Well it looks like I will be getting there Thursday afternoon with the camper. Needless to say I can't wait for Thursday afternoon to get here.
-
looking forward to it myself. I put the camper on the truck yesterday to find it full of water...I have the top nearly off right now and hope to get the bad wood replaced and have it back together for Thursday myself. See you there.
-
That's no good with the camper. We replaced the roof on my father's motor home this past spring, so I know what your dealing with.
-
It's the multiple trips to town that I hate... but I think I may beat the rain. I have the wood replaced, caulking done, Flex Seal tape installed for added security, and I'm just about to go out and install the new LED clearance lights. It seems they only come with a single wire these days so I have to adapt by using bolts instead of screws, and running a ground to the bolt. Anyway...I'm thinking it's on the downside now so I should be able to start packing later this afternoon and get out of here in the morning as planned...it may be the first time I've headed to a shoot/bow building to rest... LOL.
-
We had a great time at the event. We met some great people and made new friends. We did get a little bow building in.

It was definitely a good shoot and spending time with new and old friends was the best part. Thanks for inviting me in for a nice meal! We will find something that will work for your long draw... :OK
-
Great pictures, the one with the stave horse - you all were making a heap of shavings. Glad a good time was had by all.
-
FYI~ there are about a dozen power boxes in the parking area, each with a 50A and a couple 0f 30A outlets...lots of room for tents too. The 3D was a blast and I was lucky enough to draw one of the best groups there...thanks guys!

So Bob....How was the shoot?

So Bob....How was the shoot?
It was great, as always. It's nice having free electricity, bathrooms, and showers. I also found out that the state gun range, which is only a couple of miles from our range, has just completed a $100,000 3D shooting range that also free. I went one day with Kenny Cartwright and shot. There's a cool raised platform where you are looking down at 8 different targets from about 15 feet...including a huge moose at about 40 yards. It was a blast to shoot. Our little flight shoot got about a dozen shooters and we had 2 over shoot over 200 yards, 3 make it into the 190s. There were staves for sale and several of us working on bows...so all of the fun things. :) I did get to see one of Arvin's 'new' pyramid bows...it was 70" and over 2" wide with his deep cut shelf. I'm thinking about what I'll build for our next flight shoot at MoJam... :)
-
Cool.Sounds great!!Those prices are right up my alley to have a good time.I like those raised platform shots too.The cost of those targets always amazes me.It must be a heck of a good club there.
-
Looks and sounds like a great time. Wish I was available for this shoot. Looks like I need to get it on my bucket list for next year!

-
that's the plan! NoNose says we are going to do some major bow building next year... I'm sure that everyone at MoJam will hear all about it and be expected to attend next year. :)
Ed...we do think alike... :)
-
Cahl just read this thread over my shoulder. He asked if I could put it on our list for next year's possibilities. Looks like a good time!
-
That is one hellacious lay busy weekend already! Got 2 local events,(50 mile radius), dove season opens, Bonneville flight Shoot,(600 miles west), now ArJam(900 miles east and south)! Oh, also take Jacie out To dinner on Friday nights! I'm going to have to fire up the molecular transporter to be able to make it out of town! >:D (lol)! Sounds like a good time though! Hope to see everyone at MoJam next year, though!

Yes the timing for this weekend is harder to make decisions on than IBO and mojam. Oh well sometimes the dollar makes the decision. Sometime momma helps in the decision. Sometimes Kenny will challenge me. This is one I have been to and definitely like to attend. Arvin
