I was shooting my James Parker FG bow today and it had a fair amount of a twang sound. I know the normal material is fur strips and I have plenty of those but I wanted to try something different. I noticed the holder for a bottle of hand sanitizer was made from thin silicone. I cut it into strips and gave that a try. It worked surprisingly well. It really quieted down the bow. I'm not crazy about the blue color. I'm going to try to find some black silicone to replace it.

Whatever works! It is a rather purty blue, though >:D!

You certainly know how to make use of what you got Clint.
-
Those would look good on "Tacky", Clint. ;D
Anything that will absorb the vibration will quiet the bow.

I will put it this way Clint, that bow looks bad ass, now the silencers on the other hand. lol

I got a thin sheet of brown silicone and made a better looking set of silencers. These will look better in the woods. That bow is whisper quit now.

Forgive my ignorance, but are the "tassels" necessary for maximum silencing? Would it work to just wrap some silicon around the string?
-
I'm not sure. I'm going to experiment with them and see how much is needed to keep the bow quiet.
