We had been looking for husky or malamute puppies for a while. I found a breeder and gave him a call. They were planning a husky litter in the next few months, but also told us about a couple of dogs being retired from the dog shows. We weighed the pros and cons of new puppy vs an older dog, met some of their dogs, and decided on Sherlock. He's a year and a half old, trained, house broken, car broken, doesn't chew up anyone's shoes, has all his shots, micro chip, neutered and has been a great fit.
He does like to chase wildlife so we can't let him off a leash till we're able to budget for a taller fence. The bonus is my back yard no longer smells like a deer coral.
Was intending to change his name but the breeder sent us some pics this week from past dog shows and he's very well decorated. So I figured he earned his name.

Won't take a lot of detective work before he figures out he hit the lottery!

Beautiful dog.

That's why I prefer dogs to cats. A cat would figure you won the lottery by taking him in :)

Nothing like having a new dog around and Sherlock is young enough to be around for a long time. Congratulations to y'all and to Sherlock. :OK

They are neat dogs, very smart! A friend of mine claims he trained one to retrieve, and
Honor his other dog’s retrieve. Won a lot of beers with that trick! Looks
like he’s at home now!

Beautiful dog. Love a puppy, but all those puppy traits can really test your nerves. I'd say you two meet early enough to forum a good bond.

Sounds like you made a wise choice. Wishing you many happy years of companionship!
Is it me, or is Sherlock smiling? :)

Pretty sure he is. It was his first time in the woods and he found more poo to sniff from various critters than you can shake a stick at.
