Hi Folks
After 22 strokes from the top limb this one is ready for presentation.
Yesterday I shot her plenty and measured draw weight. Shoots nice but the draw weight was a little dissapointing. For the next bows I now ordered a new measuring device and maybe I should also subscribe at the gym.... 8)
Thank you Simson, Mo_coon-catcher, Louie, High-Desert, backtothewood, GaryL, bjrogg, upstatebowyer, Danzn Bar, 240m3srt , halfeye, Weylin, Jakesnyder, M2A, Steve T, loefflerchuck, kamil 2910 - whom I might forgot for presenting your bows and providing great inspiration.
Cheers from Switzerland, Simon

-
Great looking bow, your attenion to detail stands out .
-
Beautiful bow, Simk. What is the draw weight?
I love the background, too. The barn(?) looks very old and the hinges are special, at least to me.
-
Very nice! What is Yew and what is Rowan?
-
Thanx Guys!!!!!
Pat: - Draw weight is 35# - the barn is about 300 years old and contents our living room (-; the wood is sun burnt spruce, i think it was renewed 120 years ago but the hinges probably are same age as the house.
DC: As I bent the recurves the rowan splintered so I had to reinforce them with yew under/over(?)lays
Cheers

Good looking bow there!!

Very nice bow. I tried a static as my 9th bow build and one hook didn't hold up. So i told myself make a few more straight or reflexed ones and than try again.
When i see yours I've got pins and needles in my fingers
Nice Barn and restauration. I love seeing old things getting a new use!

Not sure if like the barn more or the bow ;D Both are pretty for sure!
-
Nice job Simon. The balance came around nicely. It looks great.
-
That’s a looker! I love a bow with simplistic style, but clearly a lot of attention to deal. Everything fits, the pin knocks are classy, and a great looking fiber grip. Great job!

Hi
Thank you for the flowers. Except of the splintered statics, which cost me some time and nerves, working this bow was a real pleasure as everything worked like it should. And of course I didnt do the photos from the dark side of the moon where the glue line is...ok. Shoots the arrows quick and accurate :BB
bttw: Just do it! If you well heat treat these statics after steam bending they should keep 80/90% of the shape.
Today I fixed the plan for the little yew. The two in the middle need epoxy, thats why they arent worked since a while, and the little one above chrysaled after heat treating, stupid layout, ignorance & arrogance 8)
Cheers

That bow looks great! It looks like it would have to shoot well. And should serve well for a good long while.
