Here's a bow I just finished, cherry with a birch backer, the siyahs are two pieces of poplar with a 1/4" solid ply core, just epoxied on no splice, no wrap. Shoots nice and quick and my buddy Clint wanted to make me a string for it, came out very nice. It's around 45-47# @ 28"

The bow tattoos is Loki's snakes, Loki is known as a trickster and being as cherry can be tricky I thought it was appropriate. No f/d right now the rh here is in the low teens and I don't want to take a chance with cherry and super low humidity 😁

Whoa - that's a looker :OK ! Bob
-
Really like the contrast between colors! Good job!
-
Very nice Bubby. Hope you get that humidity up a bit. It'd help with battling those wildfires to.

Looking pretty darn fancy bubby.I can appreciate the effort looking at it.Really nice clean no wrapped looking work. That darn old cherry has a way of biting ya but is just some beautiful type wood though.
Sure hope things get back to normal in your area.
-
Very nice, is it Black Cherry?
-
Real nice! What epoxy did you use? Like the Loki's snakes, we learn a lot of lore on this sight! Stay safe!

Never would have thought you could do a siyah glue up like that without wraps of splices or both. Really like the artwork too!

Interesting looking bow. Love the contrast between the black and cherry. Hope it shoots as sweet as it looks.
-
Very nice Bubby, the cherry has a nice color to it. I like that width profile. How wide are the siyahs? Looking forward to f/d

Great looking bow Paul. What is the length without the siyahs?
-
56" length without tips

Good to see you posting bows again Bub.....Like the "statics"...on this one. A Full draw would be nice. :)

Another great looking bow! As for the backing, did you use a birch board? I've seen birch bark backing, but from your pics, it doesn't look like bark and I haven't seen birch used as a backing yet.
