Title: Pictures from my bow building workshop
Post by: Weylin on November 12, 2018, 08:39:04 pm: I just finished a great bow building workshop this weekend. My local traditional archery club generously allowed me to use their property and clubhouse to teach my class. We had four students and they did an outstanding job on their bows. Their work exceeded my expectations. They finished their bows early so we were able to indulge in some finish work that I hadn't officially planned on. The results were some lovely bows. They all managed to hit their desired draw weight as well as an added bonus. I will definitely be doing this again. I had a blast.

Thanks, Pat. we're getting settled in pretty well. Hopefully I can make it out your way in not too long.

Thanks, Stephen. I should have been more clear. It was a four day class. :)

Thanks! You should do it. It was a lot of fun. I've been planning and accumulating tools for a while now. I picked Carson's brain a lot since he's been doing these for a while. I'm happy to share ideas with you. just let me know.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on the Strunk wraps but they had time and asked very nicely. The only thing more stressful than making a Strunk wrap is helping four people do it at the same time!

I really like the sixth one down, with the gentleman leaning back to contemplate the next step. That's probably what I look like 95% of the time I am building bows...anyway, they all turned out great!

Good eye. That is John Norwood of Old Hickory Forge. He happened to live in the town next to the venue. He does incredible smithing work. He made a knife for one of the other participants and it was beautiful and wicked sharp. He is trading me a viking axe for a set of arrows to go with the bow he made. I can't wait to go pillaging with it. >:D

Lol I didn't read any of it and thought it was a single day, I thought "wow.... I'm slow".
