Obviously wood type, grain, green/dried/seasoned etc are all contributing factors but if we're talking about a low poundage survival bow like a bundle under 25lbs realistically how thin do you reckon we can get?

I've made some kids one from red osier shoots that were quite skinny. Even high weight bows can have pretty skinny tapered shoot arrows especially if shorter arrows.

You'll have to do some experimenting. If you don't already having them drying you might as well collect different sizes and see what works best for you. You know you can leave them long to decrease the dynamic spine weight if necessary.
