I'm probably the last guy who should start a thread like this - but it is the season, whatever your belief - so " Nollag Shona Agus Athblain Mhaise Faoise Duit". "Merry December (Christmas) and Happy New Year!" May we all be here again at this time next year! And may the next year be better than than this year! That is Irish, by the way! So, the appropriate greeting in your native tongue, le de thio. Btw, I am not a native speaker, spell check sucks, so feel free to correct me!

Same to you, Jerry. With the Winter Solstice just around the corner it's time for a celebration. :OK

INdeed, Happy holidays. May you all remain safe and well this season and always.

I'll be celebrating the solstice by getting a cochlear implant at the VA Medical Center in Aurora! Not exactly the fun way to get a headache, but I should be able to hear a lot better after the breakin period! Just be "off the air" in the right ear until they turn me on 2 Jan! It will be a Quiet New Years Eve!

We got our Christmas present early. My wife had her bone marrow transplant yesterday. The present was the donor who lives in Germany. The marrow arrived at 300am from Germany and it was given to her a few hours later. BJ and Pearl know of my wife's condition and I don't usually disclose much of my personal life on the net but this is a great group of folks and during this very stressful time in our lives I needed to disclose our Christmas Joy. We are staying in a Gift of Life Transplant house and it is chuck full of very sick people and their caregivers. So if you are prayerful please keep these people in your prayers during this Christmas Season.

Jon, wishing your wife a speedy and complete recovers. You guys are in our thoughts.

Jon,
Best wishes to you and your wife, and a special thanks to the donor, as well! I hope it is totally successful!

The best of the season to all. One of my gifts is having the pleasure of interacting with all of you great folks. Sharing ideas and warm wishes with some I have met and many I still haven't met. Peace and happiness.

Best of luck on the cochlear implant! Bet you can't wait to get that new ear out in the woods.

Well, I experienced the government first hand, a 5-6 hour process turned into nearly 12 hours, with the usual snafus, neither hand knowing what the other is doing, etc. the actual operation seems to be successful, no signs of adverse effects so far, and the implant is in! Of course, I can't hear out of the right side yet! Turn on date is 2 January. Feel like I was in an 8 man stick fight and I didn't have a stick! Mostly from being maneuvered into odd positions, so the doc could get everything in the right places, still have some expected dizziness, but improving rapidly. After they get me back on the air, I'll undoubtedly be surprised how loud my bow string twangs! May need to add another set of beaver balls! Have to learn how to listen all over again! To all - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
