Title: slab from a TX tab
Post by: 1442 on April 06, 2019, 12:13:40 am
This is a slab off a thick Texas tab.
The grey colored area don't flake well and I got hinges along it near the base and couldn't clear all of the sawed surface on either side. :-[
Solberger jig to the rescue.

this is a slab off the same rock. I narrowed it to miss that grey crunchy seam.
first flute went well. second flute failed when the ear snapped off.
I think the clamp arms on my Solberger jig need some modification to decrease the pressure applied right to the ear tips
