Title: How do you remove horn from a core for a 2nd attempt?
Post by: loefflerchuck on April 14, 2019, 04:24:52 pm
I have a core with the horn already glued about 3 weeks ago and one limb is not quite right. I want to get the horn off one limb and get it better. The glue job itself is flawless with good glue. I've only taken the horn off a limb after a bad glue-up and only a couple days after attaching it.

What way has worked best for anyone who has done this? I was going to try steam or a soak, but would think it would need to be soaked for a long time.

The glue is sinew glue mixed with a little bladder glue.

Chuck, you might contacting James Parker(huntworthyproductions). He could probably tell you how. I'll pm you his phone number if you need it.

Easy just soak it in water for about 2 weeks.
