Think I got stuff ready for planting but to wet. Always something else I should be doing but I decided to work on this one for a bit.
At least the sun is shining today.
This is one from a stave Clint gave me at Marshall last year. It had a nasty sideways curve. I decided to shorten it a bit and it turned out pretty sweet.

Looks great and I think the weather is a whole lot nicer on your side of Lake Michigan today.
-
Thanks everyone.
Hoosierf, it was lousy yesterday. Today the sun rose bright on the sunrise side. I'm actually Next to Lake Huron. It's getting really cloudy now though. Sounds like another five days of rain coming.

. . . Sure looks short in the picture.
Ya speaking of the bow or the archer?

. . . Sure looks short in the picture.
Ya speaking of the bow or the archer?
Probably both. But the bow would look even shorter with most people shooting it. ;)

Looks good BJ. Another nice one.

BJ
Your bows have come a long way from what you were making a few years ago. Good job my friend. This one is a beaut. Hope to see ya a Marshall

Great looking little bow! That's bend is so smooth!
Forgive me if I missed it, but it's Osage, yes?
-
Real nice, BJ! Looks like I better get some plans for the stave I got from Clint at MoJam! Working my skill level up to the quality of the staves very gradually >:D :BB (SH)!

Made just for you.Nice curves ,and the right length, and really nice work. You are an all around great craftsman not just bow making.

Thanks Bassman, it does fit me really well. It sure is maneuverable.
Thanks Don

PS I know some of you would like to see more pictures. I understand. I would to. I really just had my brother take a full draw picture so I could see what it looked like in my hand and off the tree. Just thought I'd do a quick drive by post and something a little more time consuming when I had her finished up. I snapped a couple more quick pictures here they are
-
Didn't want to put a string on just put tru oil on
Bjrogg

I think it's so cool when the side view looks like it could be a board bow because it so straight and even and them you look at the back and it's all wiggly. I wonder what makes a tree grow like that?
-
That's outstanding work BJ. Even more respect for your skills after seeing these 2 pics. :OK
-
Me to DC.
Thanks Ben
I found a picture of one of the staves Clint gave me. He gave me three nobody took and he knew I'd do something with them. The one on the right might not be the exact stave but they all looked like it.
By the way, the one on the left is the one I got from Wyatt that I made the family of three from. Short one in the middle is 12oz curl. One in the middle next to short one is finished but no pictures yet.

+1 b2w - splendid work - maximising that osage! cheers

I finished her up and told my brother all she needs is a name. As I hung her up next to my other bows I thought. Wow that really looks like a kids bow. Suddenly a name popped into my head.
Bjrogg
One more full draw
-
She's a nice one, BJ.
All my named bows named themselves. :OK
-
that looks great (-S
-
That’s one cool bow. I see to many bows on here that get me excited to make a new one with a similar design I can’t keep up.
-
Thanks Pat. Mine almost always name themselves to. Sometimes the person who receives them names them.
Thanks Brad. (R nice today but there's a reason most of the pictures were inside.
High Desert I know exactly what your saying. Me either, but I keep on trying.

Sorry for my late jumping in, just came back from making holidays in Italy (super nice btw.)
You did a great job, Sir. That's a lot of bend an a little stick and there are some stiff parts too at the levers. Good drawweight out of so little wood - it always surprising me. Congrats buddy!
-
Thanks Mike for the nice reply.
Thanks Simson. Glad your back, hope you enjoyed your trip. I always appreciate your replies. You have been a huge inspiration to myself and many others.
