Title: Ctang and a snap
Post by: 1442 on May 25, 2019, 11:25:14 pm
This was two Texas tabs
The andice shaped one had a hinge and I swung hard to get under it but made contact about 0.0000084" to high on the edge and snapped it with direct percussion.
the corner tang rock had the stripes show up as a thin layer right in the middle so I tried to keep them in the point as best I could. I used indirect to finish the preform on this one then pressure flaked the edges

I really like the corner tang. What would you do for a handle? John

I always heard that they likely had a cordage loop tied to the notches.
That's what I do so they can be hung up somewhere verses laying around somewhere
here's another one I did today out of Georgetown. Thin and ugly with some stack remnants and the bottom corner broke off and was glued back on so I could keep working it for indirect percussion practice.
I'm gonna start using indirect more and try to get the hang of it.
