This is a 66” ntn privet bow. It’s coming in at 54lbs at 28”. I know it’s not much but I’m kinda proud of this thing. It seems to shoot well. I plan on hunting with it this year if I can become a proficient shooter. Just thought I would share.

Congratulations on your first shooter! It's a wonderful feeling. Good luck with your hunt, and practice practice practice!

Great work! Shoot straight.

Nice work mate! I am half way through my second privet bow first was a short bendy, this will be a long bendy and it is shaping up well. So far I really rate Privet as a bow wood, easy to work, and tough. Congrats on your first shooter, here's hoping you smash a heap of arras through it and are on form for your next hunting opportunity.

Yes that is a nice bow. A full draw pic would be nice

That's a fairly solid looking tiller there. I bet it is sweet to draw. I will offer an observation, and that's the lower limb tip is whip tillered. Nothing wrong with a whip tiller, just that's a tiny bit too much in my opinion and it doesn't seem to match the upper limb. Just notes for the next one, cause I know you ain't stopping with this one :D But that shoots, enjoy it, and congratulations again! Welcome to the club!

Not bad, like was mentioned the bottom tip is too weak, best to leave the last 6" or so stiff when you tiller.
-
that might be a bit of an optical illlusion as well, especially because it looks like your canted with the top of the bow closer to the camera. Do you have another picture with a solid background?

Congratulations. It's a great feeling shooting your first successful selfbow. I remember that feeling well. It changed me forever.
I'd have to agree with Sleek. Bottom limb is bending a little to much close to tip. You might try getting inner part of limbs to bend slightly next time. Not much just a little. I'm thinking like Sleek. Guessing this won't be your last one.
Good Luck Hunting. Gotta warn you though. It's really addictive.

Very nice. Congrats on your first "shooter".

Some will design a bow with whip ends to make them shoot smoothly. You lose some cast in the trade, but it’s usually a soft send off. Nice work. Try stiffening the tips on the next one and see which you like better.

Congrats

Thanks for posting! I had no idea that Privet made a decent bow. After seeing your post, I did some research, then tottered off down the creek no more than 100 yards from my house and returned with 5 new staves.......
