Title: Camp axe
Post by: bubby on September 01, 2019, 10:22:44 pm
Not really forging but I got a old boy scout axe that was in dough shape and it took some fair amount of shop work to clean it up. Had some mushrooming at the pommel and some fool took a grinder to the bevel. Once I got it cleaned up I made the handle for it, all work the town Smith would have done imo

Nice restoration job!  Hate to. See tools abused like that!

The previous owner very roughly tried to change the geometry of the blade, went maybe a third of the way up the head on one side . Noticed he f#$d it up and stopped

That reminds me, I hope I find my Estwing axe while I am cleaning the garage this weekend!  It's out there, but I haven't seen it for quite a while! >:D
