Title: Hot sauce recipes
Post by: Strichev on September 14, 2019, 05:51:25 am
I have a bunch of naga morcih and habanero chilies. I've made a batch of simple habanero, garlic, salt, sugar, vinegar sauce to store in small jars. It's ok, hot as hell but somewhat lacking in taste. I'd like to improve the taste part so that it's not just spicy but also retains some flavour.

I know that this has been discussed to death on other forums, but bowyers and archers alike are more trustworthy than some randos on a cooking/hot sauce forums, right?

So, what are some tried and tested recipes to try out?

Don't do hot sauce, but you might add a bit of nutmeg, and liquid smoke, molasses might help bind the flavors, too.

Never made hot sauce but i love cooking. what you have in your recipe is basic ingredients nothing to really make it taste good. you can add sweetnees with lime, lemon, mango, anything thats citrusey. just try different things!

I use three ghost peppers with the pith and seeds removed, wine vinegar, soy sauce, three Roma tomatoes, sweet onions(Vidalia), one sweet Cubanelle pepper, tablespoon of brown sugar and garlic.
Use amount of ingredients to taste but don't overdo any of them.
