Yup! i'm excited! i need to sharpen the small one a little bit!

My dad asked me to start making him arrowheads that he can hang on his wall in his office!. my old middle school has a stained glass club and they are always throwing away colored scraps. is stained glass good for flintknapping?

I think there was a long thread on that just recently, either in arrows or flintknapping.  The good glass works.

Looks like your starting to get the hang of it Russell. If you get lots of stained glass and end up coming to Marshall again next year.  Bring some along for the trade blanket.

I think stained glass is a bit too thin.  But give it a try. Nice job on your knapping.

That was one of the things that peaked my interest Jon. He said they were pretty thick and he needed to learn percussion.

The stained glass I’ve worked has been very thin.  It’s hard to clean the surface up if it’s textured.
I try to clean it up w/one pass then sharpen it.

Don’t get me wrong.   I have seen some that was a lil thick.  I just haven’t had the opportunity to Knapp it.

I have some that is a 1/4" but I just pressured flake it, makes a very nice looking point. Bob

Deer hunter,
I'm planning on making it to MoJam again next year!  Hopefully it will be a bit cooler, or at least less humid!  That 109 degree heat index flat kicked my butt!  And I grew up in that area!  That is why I am. In Colorado!  No humidity!
