Title: some questions
Post by: stuckinthemud on October 09, 2019, 04:33:07 pm
I want to build a crossbow based on this one.  It is now bent virtually to its brace profile, presumably from being left strung for a couple of hundred years. It is a yew and sinew bow, 30 inches ttt, 1 3/4 inch  thick by 2 inches at centre, 1 inch round at tips.

I have 2 questions,  First, do you think it was deflexed or built straight originally.  Second, how much sinew would it take to build a bow like this?

Thanks in advance,
Andrew
