Our club, The Florida Frontiersmen, had a club yard sale at the last meeting. I picked up this Brown Bess at a really good price. It's a Japanese Marooka made for Dixie Gunworks in the '70s. She's a .75 caliber, approximately a 12 gauge also. i'm looking forward to shooting it.

That's a cool old flintlock, Eddie and quite a beast at .75. :-M
-
Nice gun! I heard the Japanese guns were very well made!

Nice piece! Made by 'Miroku' ...

The Brown Bess, an iconic musket. Nice catch at your club's garage sale. Be ready for a big thump on the shoulder from this one with a full load in it.
-
She should handle magnum loads easily! Your shoulder is another matter! Have fun!

Thanks, everybody, it should be fun. lefty, thanks for the correction. I had been at the Morooka dealer that day pricing one for work.

I have thought about getting an original nepalese brown bess restoration kit from IMA, the parts are pretty rough but some good looking guns have been made from them.
