Title: Snakey Osage Bow with Rattler Skins 45#@28"

I've been on a bit of a snakey osage kick. Nothing radical, just some nice curves on solid staves. This one is heading to Colorado so I gave it some rawhide backing under the snake skins to help with the dry climate. The bow is 64" long and pulls 45#@28". The skins are Western diamondbacks from Cipriano Rivera. the tip overlays are buffalo horn and the handle wrap is tanned beaver tail. The sawtooth pattern on the edge of the skins about made me go cross-eyed. And me being me, i got done with a whole side of it and decided I didn't like it so I scraped it off and repainted it.  ::)

Absolutely gorgeous. The carving on the tip overlays flows real well with the snake skins, and the handle does too. I like the lacing and the way you used it to finish the edge of the beaver tail, really gives it a professional look. The overall finish, and of course the snakey curves and the tiller... Beautiful!

Thank you. I'm hoping with the fairly generous dimensions and the rawhide backing that it should do well.
