Title: Some oldies from Art Greyson collection
Post by: Hrothgar on December 07, 2019, 07:56:43 am
Thought I would re-post some old images from the University of Missouri archeological collection, donated by Dr. Greyson.

Thanks for posting these pics. The small game head in the first pic is awesome. I love pics of the old stuff and Dr Greyson had a fabulous collection that he has shared with the world. 8)

Really neat.  What I wouldn't give for access to a collection like this, a light box, and my camera.

that is awesome!!!
so good when we can save things for prosperity!

in the same vein, does anybody have any suggestions as to what institution would be interested in recieveing soem archery equipment, that is really a part of our "modern" archery history.
I believe there is some kind of archery museum in Oregon??

any pointers would be greatly appreciated ( pun intended  ::) )

Wayne, try "Northwest Archery" in Washington State. Susanne St. Charles, Glenn St Charles' daughter runs it. Seem to me they have an archery museum of sorts also.

I went there, but wasn't into archery at the time, which proves that I learned less then I could have, but seriously, those old time artifacts are great for thinking about primitive archery.

I'm sure it wasn't there when I was!  But that was back in the early days, my student id number was in the mid 5 digit range, and beer was a quarter!  Before the resurgence of self bows.  Like muzzleloaders, there were a few enthusiasts who kept the spark glowing!  Have to get there someday soon!
