I actually did this this morning: Opened up the kitchen door and yelled at a decent little 4x4 whitetail buck: "Hey, stop eating my archery targets!"
How do they know the season is over???

There are no funny shaped "trees" moving through the brush! They also have X-ray vision that allows them to read your license, so they can avoid you! :-D >:D (lol) (lol)!

Went out on the deck this morning and there was a 5x5 mulley nose deep in the tail end of a doe following her around the yard. Told the perv to leave her alone. Didn't even glance in my direction. The nerve of some critters >:(

So, the whities have pretty well destroyed my 20 yard target and started working on the 30. I figured out why I'm having this problem: Usually I make my targets out of grass hay; last year I used bales from an alfalfa field. So, I made my targets out of deer candy. Duh.
Yesterday morning I looked out and three does were chewing on the 30 yard target butt, and two more were actually bedded down in the resulting pile of hay. I ran them off with a sling shot, and the little devil on my shoulder told me to start shopping for some LARP arrows...but nah, as fun as that would be, the neighbors wouldn't understand, and explaining it to the game warden would be more trouble than it's worth.
