I bought 2 Boston butts recently(about 20#) to cook again on Wednesday(April 29) at Twin Oaks. Anyone interested in contributing and joining in is welcome. I'll bring the pork, BBQ sauces and a few packs of buns. Slaw, chips, more buns and anything else will be welcomed.
This will take place under the eating shed at about 5pm. You'll be smelling the pork cooking most of the day on Wednesday as you walk by the kitchen. -C-
Please let me know if you are interested in joining in and what you can contribute. And as before if anything is left over it will be open for anyone, first come, first serve.

With the current health crisis and the fact that our 2001 Isuzu Trooper blew a transmission and not worth the $3000+ cost to fix it we are down to one reliable vehicle. Unfortunately I won't be coming to the Classic this year and obviously won't be cooking the Boston butts. Believe me it's killing me. This will be the first Classic I've missed in a long time. I consider the Classic a family reunion, seeing lots of old friends and making new friends each year.
I've contacted Pappy to let him know I won't be coming and am cancelling the pulled pork supper on the Wednesday before the Classic.
I will still be sending my donation for the raffle table. I'm still working on it and when done I'll post pics here before I mail it to Pappy.
I hope everyone stays well during this health crisis. Like the cashier at CVS told me the other day...wash your hands often and don't lick anyone. :OK

Sorry to hear that Pat ! Hang in there - hope to share a Fire with You in the Future (=) - Bob.
-
Thanks Uncle Bob. We are healthy and live out in the country with little contact with others. Our county only has 30,000 residents and so far no cases I heard of. The vehicle is another story but nothing we can do about that now. I look forward to sharing a fire with you sometimes too. I'm disappointed I won't be going to the Classic but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

Sorry to hear that Pat but understand, we have not canceled it as of now but plan on making a decision by the 15th of April, all depends on how this thing is shaping up. Please don't cancel your plans yet, who knows what a few weeks will hold. We all know how these things go, everyone
panics and then in a few weeks it's over and we wonder what even happened. :)
