This is a flattish self longbow drawing 75# at 32”. 1” wide at the handle and 71.5” ntn. I believe it’s shellbark hickory but I’m not certain. There were some thick knots in the original stave but they all split out or were avoidable, leaving behind plenty of character. The stave handled this bow very well, on the tiller tree it feels like I could have gone for more weight. But in real life this is about as much as I can draw so it wasn’t worth asking for more. My shooting with heavier bows needs some practice.

Awesome long bow man. Those bumps and swirls look great. I can wait to give it a go at a 75lb hickory longbow. I only draw 26” so it should be a bit easier lol.
Honestly I can’t imaging trying draw out to 32” haha.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a very short draw so I didn’t have to be as picky about designs. I shoot a lot of 26” bows as well but 28” is a better compromise for technique. With modern equipment I like 30 or 31” It’s amazing how much the heavy bows collapse the shoulder. I have a 5lb training bow where I anchor yardstick length arrows to the corner of my mouth. But then with a collapsed shoulder, a bent arm and a heavy lean I can anchor 25”, 26” comfortably

Nice congrats...I find a longer draw for heavier works for me,.I like short draw bows too,.in the 50# range
