Title: What bandsaw blade?
Post by: bentstick54 on March 21, 2020, 08:36:57 pm
I have an older Rockwell 14” bandsaw from the 1970’s. It takes a 93 1/2” blade. I’m looking for recommendations on the best blade size (1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2) and TPI count, and tooth set for roughing out Osage staves. And best places to find respectable quality and reasonable priced blades.

Thx DC, I’ll probably try a 3TPI or 4TPI

I use a 1/2” blade with a 2” 3-4 TPI, and a hook tooth. A hook tooth isn’t necessary, but it’s nice because it’s more aggressive.

I ended up buying a Timberwolf 1/2” blade, 3TPI. Have not used it on any Osage yet, but did run a piece of Black Locust through it yesterday, and it looks an through it like a hot knife through butter. Very impressed. Thanks for the everyone’s input.
