Title: BL heat treat

Does Black Locust darken very quickly when heating. I'm using same gun, same distance same everything and it turns grey in just a few minutes.

Its turns color very fast. Buckthorn turns bright yellow, almost instantly. Don't let that color fool you into thinking its hot enough. It will take as long to temper it as an osage bow does.
