Ok. It seems nobody really challenged Hillbilly on his Johnstone Knapping contest earlier. I've got ~ 3 tanks worth of Johnstone (more would be great). Who is interested in a "no holds bar", " rage in the cage", johnstone knapping contest at the TN. Classic? Please read the disclaimer at the bottom. ;D
All Johnstone shall be clean and of unsoiled material. Any injuries sustained in the contest shall be remedied with, "liquids that make the pain go away". Pappy sustains the right to chastise and taunt all participants.
Hopefully someone will respond and I won't sound like an idiot. ;D :) :P :-[

Sounds like fun- the mother of all toilet breakings. ;D
-
Thunder Flush points!!! Or as they call them in these parts "Crappies!" I'm in! ;D
-
I'm in. I think I got third in the last one. ;D
Otoe
Mike
-
Good luck guys, it'll be hard to "dethrone" Hillbilly.
-
Long live the King ;D
Mike

Mike
I think it is better to get third than to get the #2 in a johnstone contest. ;D Justin
-
Or #1! :D Heck, I might even take this challenge. ??? ;D Pat
-
Is this going to be a "bring your own toilet" event?
-
Nah! Just flush your own!!! ;D
-
Do we haft too. :D
-
Being a State licensed sewage expert I think I would be a qualified expert judge for this event ;D
I could make sure there are no back-ups and everything flows properly ;)
-
;D ;D ;D
You guys are full of it! Or was that the throne was full of it? ;D
-
heck yea , i'm game.
-
You did disenfect everything, I hope! ;D :-\
-
If I can get my hands on a peice, I'll john in on the fun ;D.
-
Excellent, Looks like we have some willing victims, I mean contestants. I will bring what Johnstone I have, but feel free to bring extra. Anyone have any ideas about a trophy?
-
Maybe Dana can bring something from his work as a trophy! ;D Pat
-
I have a whole bucket of trophies I pulled out of a pump today, and no D. Tiller their not disinfected >:D
-
Crap! >:D ;D :D
-
Dana, if you drive 900 miles one way with a bucket of "trophies", you win in my book.
-
I wish I could describe what we pull out of the pumps butthere is just no polite way to describe em ??? ::) :P ;) :D
I think the best I ever pulled out of a pump was a lawnmower blade, how the hell it made it to the pumps I will never understand.
Also get a lot of fruit of da looms :o, still waiting on the diamond ring eh ;) :)
-
I'm willing to donate a nice wooden toilet seat I have as a trophy...mount you four legs on it and you're in business! ;D
-
Sounds good to me! We could call it the trophy thrown!
-
Lawn mower blade? :o Sounds like a ditched murder weapon to me.
Mike
-
Dana, don't you ever find Marbles? Whenever I work at the waste water treatment plant we always find marbles for some reason, and Goldfish ;) Are pre-cut and ground preforms legal ;D
-
I wish I could describe what we pull out of the pumps butthere is just no polite way to describe em ??? ::) :P ;) :D
No.... but political correctness dictates that there is a clean end to pick it up by. ::) Is that what they teach in those state certified classes? Justin
-
Ya know eddie I have never found a marble ??? don't think kids play with em anymore to busy with their i pods and nintendo's I guess.
Justin its another liberal myth that their is a clean end >:D Take it from me there isn't :o
A toilet seat for a trophy eh Greg, thats a good idear, it could be a traveling trophy. Just think what the wife
of whoever wins it will think when he brings it home and gives it a place of honor on the living room wall ;D
-
Living room wall...that's a fun image. ;D
-
That might make it a bit difficult to sit on! Got super glue?
-
The living room wall? Well I don't need to win that one. I catch remarks all the time about the Butt wall in the living room. All my turkey fans and beards and turkey mounts.
-
Eddie your wall has gone to the birds! ;)
-
I heard a bronze toilet seat was what they were planning to give to Dana for his retirement gift. Justin

Better than a watch Justin :D
-
Who is DanaM? The name sounds vaguely familiar, but I just cant place it. ;D Justin
-
Better known as "Da Yooper" ??? ;D
-
He's the Super Duper Poop Scooping Yooper!
-
Lot of rock busting going on at the club...hope they save some for you guys. ;D DTiller and Leapingbare are giving some good lessons to some of the less experienced knappers.
-
:'( Tell them to pace themselves. Come on Friday.
Mike
-
Hey, there better be some rock left Friday........(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v325/hillbillync/Other%20Stuff/wth.gif)

Tell the less experienced to practice on the Thunderchert. Builds character. >:D

CONGRADULATIONS COWBOY!!! i bet you feel honored ;D
-
Good work, Ill bet that stone really busted your butt. Justin
-
Way to go Cowboy you really pushed through that one :D :D Did you get that one one your first try :D
Congratulations you won a real ringer :D
-
Congratulations Cowboy! From all the straining and grunting you put into the fabrication of that fine piece of ...thunderchert, you are well deserving! ;D
-
Nice one Cowboy! Where was I when they gave out the award? Dang! Missed out on another great photo op!!! ;D Yep, he made a real nice one. Must come from working the hard stuff down in TX. Man that was hard to work stuff!

-
Well - that's a little embarasking ;D. Thanks ya'll! Yep, that was some fine material - it was from the tank (not the bowl) and I heard that the seat had been sterilized outside for a few years (I hope :-X). I put my mark on the seat (with a pen :D) and hung it up inside the knapping area - so the next victor can pass on the tradition ;)..
-
Cowboy, you're a real good sport. You'll get a lot of ribbin' over that trophy. I think you ought to at leas carry a picture of the trophy ceremony with you to show all your compadres at work. I'm sure they wouldn't say anything derrogatory.Ha!
pugpen
-
I kept the half of the tank that didn't get knapped with everyone's signature on it - that will find an honorable spot in my rock house at home :).
-
And he wasn't to pooped to party afterwards either ;) :D
-
Nice work Cowboy. By the way the ol lady took the littly yellow one you gave me at the Classic, she said that I wasn't worthy of owning such a nice piece of art.
Thanks and nice meeting you hope to see you next year.

Here are a few pics I took ........

Well done cowboy and other successful contestants. I must say that Hillbilly and I had a "crap of a time" gettin a point not to break. ;D perhaps this should become an annual tradition at the classic!
-
Way to go Cowboy, your family will be proud of ya' ;D I hated to miss out on it ,but I was in the John when ya'll started.
-
Now that's a really embarasking pic there Pat - you know I probably shoulda grabbed the trophy and run fer tha hills before the paparatzi got wind of the situation, never seen so many flashes goin off in my life ;D.
You'll have to sneak in there and get that point back Cracker, it was intended ta kill a deer ;D. If she don't give it back just let me know - I think all that Hickory you gave me is worth at least a half dozen huntin points, I really appreciated that :).
I hope the tradition carries on Jonathan - that toilet seat will get lonely hanging there with only one signature on it. You need to be signing it next year ;). I really thought that Hillbilly's point should have won - It takes a lot of time and perserverance to make a point that small from a big rock ;D..
-
Ron, I could send Cowboy some more of that yeller rock.
-
Great fun on this and made the club some money,Thanks to all.Cowboy signed it and I have it hanging over the napping area till next year.

Got the heads back,Jeffery ,the guy that bought them at the auction gave them back to me and wants to put them in a shadow box and display them at the club, with the dates and winners
on it.I thought that was a great idea.He said he don't know why he bought them, just got caught up in the moment, that is what an auction will do for you. ;) ;D Anyway they have came back home and that is where they will stay on the wall for all to see. Thanks to all of you that participated in it
it was a lot of fun just watching and listening to all the bull. ;) ;D
Pappy
-
That was a nice gesture! I think that ah trophy might need a coat of tru-oil on it to help it stay in shape for upcoming Classics. :)
-
That'd be cool to have em hanging around framed by the trophy. Should inspire other knappers to join in - may need to build a bigger pit off to one side somewhere, so they wouldn't have to endure all the gruntin and groanin sounds ;D.
-
I agree Greg, good project for you. ;) ;D ;D That is in the plan Paul. :)
Pappy

Pappy
I had to open my big mouth! ;D
-
Yep! That was fun. Who ended up cleaning out all the debris from the pit? That must have been a chore!
Had a blast Pappy! Cant wait till next year. I will plan on packing lighter this time so I can put a little of the good stuff (GB Obsidian) for the classic.
-
Got them put in a new shadow box, they look pretty cool.I will have them up next year at the Classic.

That aught to raise some eyebrows ;D.
-
I've been practicing on some real fine thunderchert I found ;D
Hoping to enter next year :) Nice shadowbox Pappy.
-
Those are some great looking points. Next time can we start the contest a little earlier in the evening? Some of us young'uns have to turn in early you know. :D
Mike
