Hey all,
I got back to making some warbows.
This bow had its own rocky road when making it. Over all I am very satisfied with the final product.
The wood was from Turku, Southern Finland.
The bow has rectangular cross section and tapers more rapidly from the last third of the limb.
The last third also has more rounded shape, almost circular before nocks.
It has ox horn nocks
At first it had too much bend in the handle, my fellow bowyer friend told me how to fix it and where to fix it.
At first:

After heat treating and +10lbs:

I didn't do anything besides heat treat it.
Looks good enough for me I said, applied some linseed oil and beeswax and went shooting with it.
Draw is smooth, almost no hand shock. :OK

What I would do to get my hands on some Wych Elm. Good job there dude. That's gonna be a bruiser for sure.

It is a great species of wood to use, I have heard that the Norwegian wych is the best quality. The Finnish wych works wonders too.
Thanks!

Shooting video.32,5" arrows.
If you look at my 120lb shooting video, it shows that I struggle a lot more shooting from more standing posture.
Also, at that time, I was at the end of my session so that might affect a bit too :D

very nice color in the heat treated area
what target are you shooting at with blunt? a moose (lol) ?
is it not too hard for the arrows to come to the sudden stop that blunt produce with a 140lbs bow?

Yes, there's too many of them here in Finland! They need to be controlled.
In fact, if you listen closely at 0:50, you can hear me hit an armored moose. :D
Joking aside, I'm shooting at an old canvas which is tied up with trucker's hitch between two trees.
It gives a lot and doesn't harm the arrows. However :NN with 140lbs bow they fly straight through some times ... :D (which was the case at 0:50)
Thanks!
