Title: Sturgeon-backed Yew Bow 50#@27"

This bow started with a stave that had a slight natural deflex. I gently flipped the tips to gain back some reflex. The bow is 64" long and pulls 50#@27". It's backed with sturgeon skins both for aesthetics and added protection on the back. The tip overlays are buffalo horn and the handle wrap is tanned beaver tail with kangaroo lace. The finish is tru oil and the string is D97 with mink fur silencers.

Another great bow Weylin.  Your attention to detail is second to none.  Every one of them is a work of art.

Those skins look especially good on yew. Everything about the bow is top notch. Beautiful work Weylin.

Love the bows you create. Been watching and learning from you on the “tube” for some time. I just pulled a yew stave out to start one. I had an outer limb failure on the one I was working on. It’s inspiring to see what is possible.

that was a pleasant surprise. normally the buffalo horn is jet black with little variation.
