Title: spindly red oak tiller check
Post by: mikebarg on July 09, 2020, 09:53:18 am
I'm making a light weight red oak D bow. 65" long .1" wide at the handle(bending handle). 5/8" wide at the tips. The width taper starts 15" in from the tip. I'm seeing the mid limb on the left is stiff(red), and both  limbs outer 1/3(green) are stiff. Please double check my eyes.

I would agree with that assessment.

after a little rework. The tips are still a little stiff. I backed it with rawhide.
