Neighbor Bob and I were taking stock of of wood stocks for handles and such. He pulled out several chuncks of "swamp wood". I asked for clarification and he said it was just bowdark or something. Bwah ha ha!!! It was the gold rarely found in the PNW. We cut some bits and gave a first run at it.
The result was a 64 inch ntn reflex/deflex. 68 pounds at 27 inches. Bamboo got a Sunburst stain pattern. Desert iron wood, osage and buffalo tips. Shoots smoothly. It has become my daily driver and elk stick.
Thanks for looking and happy bird day!
