I’ve been wanting to order a new side mounted quiver but can’t get one in on time for deer season 1st October is closing in fast. My go to quiver busted so I needed to make my own. This is a copy of sorts of the quiver I wanted to order. It will work for deer season. I used bamboo strip that I steam bent to the shape I wanted. I repurposed an old quickie quiver that I bolted and glued to each end to. I wrapped the hood with some old brown couch leather I scavenged. The mounting hardware I repurposed from my old one that broke. I was able to salvage the straps and rubber side saddles. Everything else I had to remake. Let me know what you think.

Very nice bow quiver. Well done. :OK

Thankyou sir

Just keep that one for good. Looks "store bought." Nice work.

Looks good to me. Personally I won’t buy nothing if I can gizmo something myself

After looking at that one, I would also be happy with it. No need to buy another one. Job well done.

Thanks fellas. I’m pretty happy with it too. I took my time with this build as the one I wanted (creek walker bell quiver) I liked the look of so I copied as best I could on my own. In my opinion it looked worth the $165 that creek walker was asking. I would have gladly paid this but they advised were a couple weeks behind on orders. Darn. The steam bending the strip of bamboo was a challenge to get right. If I was to do it again I was do up a glue up instead with laminate of thin strips like a plywood of sorts formed with the s curve. The bamboo worked in the end and heat tempered it after steam bending to hold its strength. It’s nice and lite weight too. I made this to fit my bamboo bows if I ever wanted it mounted for a hunt. A little unorthodox I know for bamboo bows. ;). Can’t wait to us I this season!
Cheers.

Well done :) It looks good from here - much better feeling than wasting 165 bucks :) Especially because most 'store bought' stuff can easily be improved on. $165 sounds like an awful lot of money for a bow quiver....

Well done.

Looks good!
Here are some of mine: http://primitive-bows.com/bow-quiver/
The underpart is the the same of all, but the heads are different for different points

That’s great. It’s always better make one yourself any way.

Thanks guys!
Simson, I really like that trade point version of yours. That real primitive look. I’m gonna have to steal that idea and make one. Love that stacked leather idea!
Here’s a pic of my bending jig for the bamboo.

Looks like it will work - what we used to call a "jerryrig" or a "Rube Goldberg"! If it works for you it is good to go! Nice job!

I've made a couple versions of a bow quiver. I've hunted with a quiver on my bow as long as I can remember, but shooting self bows I really like the feel of a bare bow. I took the quiver off my bow and decided to try a side quiver this year. We'll see how that goes. I might love it and I might have the bow quiver back on for day 2.
