Title: Processing sinew
Post by: bluejack on December 15, 2021, 06:13:50 pm
I`ve never processed back sinew from a whitetail-after scraping and drying do you tear into strips like leg sinew or leave full width ? Thanks for the help !!

Break it down like with leg sinew. Save the longest pieces for hafting and wrapping.

{Hey Pat B-Thanks for the reply- I don`t haft and wrap, so can I just tear apart like leg sinew and use on the back of a bow ? (do I have to break the fibers or use as one full piece?)

Strip it down like with leg sinews so you can remove the membrane. I've done a couple of bow backs with back sinew. It works well for that but you'll need a lot of back strap sinews.
