Shooting feral hogs from helicopters with machine guns? only in Texas!   :-M (-_)

Sounds like Mad Max in the A-pork-alips!

Interesting!  Didn't feel like giving my email to read the whole article, though.  Texas apparently has some weird hunting laws and practices.

O, I was afraid it might not be totally open access.   :-\

The short of it is that wild hogs are such a problem in Texas that they are taking extreme measures to control them, including the 'Pork Chopper Bill' that legalized the helicopter stuff.

Glad you liked it!

I know a group who went last winter. I didn’t link to the article either. I don’t know if it was the same operation or a different one. I suspect a different one. It was a smaller helicopter. They trailered it from one location to another and took off and landed on the trailer. It sounded like a experience you would not soon forget. I don’t want to talk numbers, because I probably would get them wrong anyway. I will simply say. By the numbers taken. There must be a huge farrow hog problem there.

I personally would enjoy the helicopter ride. I have my private pilot fixed wing. Have always wanted to try rotor craft but man those things cost a lot of dollars to maintain.

First, I'd like to shoot a feral hog with a horsebow from horse back.

Second, shoot one with a horsebow from a helicopter!!!

The group that went wanted me to go to. I told them if I went I was going to bring my bow. When they got back they couldn’t stop talking about it. They thought I would have a good chance to get one with my bow.

They said the pilot didn’t get crazy. He flew low but not terribly fast and very smooth. I couldn’t believe how reasonably priced it was. I would have thought it would cost three times what they paid.

Should be able to steer the plane with your knees while shooting arrows out the side window.  No problem.

Probably have better luck with a ultralight. Don’t think we have one of those emojis either.
