Hey Folks,
after a few discussions about the thickness of the levers of a Møllegabet I decided to make my next as thin as possible.
The customer wanted a Møllegabet with 45-50#@31" so thats a big draw and I made the bow a little bit longer.
70"ntn unstringed. that of course means a lot of mass so I looked for every spot to get rid off weight.
I also heat treated this thing 3 times - tested more and more what ash could do. I also gave an intensive HT to the levers while I fixed them to prevent twisting
The result was a very light Ash Mølle with fine light levers. I think it performs quiet good.
47lbs 175fps with 10,2gpp at my 28" draw and there is still alot of unnecessary mass cause the customers draw is 31"
had it even on 178fps with 50pounds @ 28" before but after I gave it around 200 arrows it lost a few. Set looks still good I think thanks Heat Treat.
very comfortable shooter - no stacking even @ 31"
I recorded everything: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8H0rVzM_rM
Love those humps and bumps
Cheers !!! 😁

Cool!

Nice bow :0
you can lose a little more weight at the fades/transition to the levers. Make the transition concave :) All the ash I've used has liked a heavy trap to the back, it can be an eye opener how 'little' back you need with ash. A tip for 'customer' bows is to round the back edges over more than you have done on this bow...gives them a better chance of staying together if the bows edges are ever dinged.
-
yeah I left the levers only 1,5 growth rings bigger so the transition at the cross section is very slidely

Very nice bow, love the character. :)

That bow has some really cool character! Love those ridges on the back. I bet it’s a smooth shooter!
-
thank you all guys. after this experience with the 9mm levers and the heat treat I cant wait to make a molli thats suitable for 28" draw in that style )W(

I really dig it, nice bow

Excellent execution of this design.Good pictures also.
I gotta admit though that personally I don't have sharper square edges on any on my bows. The rings feathered out nicely on your bow.
-
Well sometimes the light is tricky
-
Nice molle. I like the narrowness of those levers! Well done

Nice, Rowan. What kind of ash is this? We have a lot of green ash around here and I've been wanting to try some.

Nice bow! That looks like a good design to lighten a bow, if you haven"t progressed too far.
